DIY Wooden Bead Ornaments

Try these DIY Wooden Bead Ornaments to add an boho vibe to your Holiday!  Not only are they trendy when you put them on the tree but they are so quick and easy to create.

All you need to create these little gems are:
1) A large pack of wooden beads from any one of your local craft stores. I purchased mine from Walmart for around six dollars.
2) String. The string you use will give you the overall look of the ornament. For example I wanted a small fringe on the bottom when I tied the knot so I chose a thin sisal thread that would pull apart and fray.
3) Christmas music in the back round to get you in the mood ;)

To begin your ornament, decide how much of a loop you want to hang the ornament from the tree branch. I cut my string to measure 10" so when I folded it in half I had about five inches to work with. I chose to tie a smaller loop at the top so if you want a larger loop or your beads tend to be a little larger, cut your string longer, you can always trim it when your done.

At this point all you need to do is start adding your beads to your string. If your having trouble pushing the string through the wooden bead, you can do one of two things to make it easier: 1) You can wrap the end of your string with a small piece of wrapping tape to create a 'needle' or 2) Depending on how thick your string is, you can actually use a thin crafting needle that has a larger 'head' on it. The holes on my beads were fairly large so I twisted my two string ends together and was able to push them through. When you are finished threading the beads onto the string, tie a knot at the end of your string and trim. If you want to add a little extra flare to your ornaments, add a fringe by pulling the threads of your sting apart to separate the strands.
