Top 5 Holiday Door Swags

The Holiday Season is a great time to get creative. A swag can be a show stopper outside but is beautiful in any location; the front door, tied to the back of your dining room chair or on the mantle of your fireplace. Take inspiration from this simple swag I made from our cedar trees in the backyard or follow along as I show you my Top Five Holiday Door Swags that you can replicate into a fun DIY, and the different ways you can style them in your own home.

#1 - This Eucalyptus & Berry Teardrop Swag is a favorite. The sage green eucalyptus with tiny soft berries and natural pinecone accents give it a holiday flavor with a twist. Even though it was created as a swag, I can picture it as a long table centerpiece by placing two together and adding candles of varying heights in the center.

#2 - Adding faux fruit, holly and mixed branches give this swag an almost edible appearance. If you were making this swag as a DIY, you could add sparkle dust to the fruit which would help to make the room glow in the evenings and then replicate a similar centerpiece for the table with real fruit of the same variety. The scent of fresh fruit and greens is so inviting during the holidays.

#3 - This swag of silver-kissed faux olive branches welcomes guests with an ancient symbol of peace. The lifelike fruit, at varying stages of maturity, enhances the captivating realism. Hang this one as is or add a layer of Ponderosa pine needles, which can grow as long as 5 to 10 inches long, in back to add dimension.

#4 - I can just smell the aroma of this beautiful eucalyptus swag as I write! The endless texture of the fern branches, long eucalyptus twigs, and round eucalyptus branches bring a new dimension to the traditional evergreen swag. There could be a whole theme to your holiday decorating with this swag; hang the swag on the exterior of your front door, DIY some eucalyptus napkin rings and add cream cloth napkins and brass tableware to complete the look.

#5 - OK, so maybe I'm getting a little carried away with the eucalyptus theme.  I can't help myself from being drawn to the texture it adds to a swag because of how well it blends with the evergreens. The simple red bow of this swag, a few pinecones and the red berries all lend itself to be a show stopper for your Holidays this year!

There are endless possibilities when preparing to DIY a Holiday Door Swag for yourself. Take into consideration the STYLE you want to achieve, the MATERIALS you will need to purchase, the TIME you want to invest in creating your swag and last but not least enjoy the process. Create memories whether this is the first swag you have ever made or one of many.
