3 Tips to a Stress Free Summer Wardrobe
It's all about comfort yet looking put together....right!?
This blazer from H&M has been my summer staple since I bought it. So easy to throw on with just about everything I own! Here are 3 Tips to a Stress Free Summer Wardrobe:
1-Skinny down your wardrobe so you're not overwhelmed by your closet. Keep your favorites but get rid of all those clothes you haven't worn in the last month.
2-Purchase items that go together so you can mix-and-match. By doing this you can own and manage fewer items but create just as many outfits for your busy schedule. As you can see here, my staples are tan, black and white. Every outfit I put together includes one or all of those colors. The way I 'mix it up' so it doesn't get boring is by:
a. Adding texture to the materials I pick. For example I love a chunky hand-knit sweater, a cropped corduroy jacket or linen and cashmere.
b. Choosing very bright bold color in certain pieces of your wardrobe. For example I love to add a bright green leather jacket to a monochromatic black pant and turtleneck sweater. Or slip on a pair of 'blue suede shoes' to add a little zest to that step!
And last but not least....
3-Spend more money on good quality accessories. Nobody knows if you purchased your black pants from Macy's or Goodwill. They will notice, however, if your backpack or shoes are leather (and so will your feet :).
